All went to plan . We had a good variation of destinations with perfect weather. We really did not waste one minute. United Airlines also were very good. The only problem we had was the hotel in Singapore. The Elizabeth was misrepresented in all the sites I looked at. It was smokey, I am not a smoker and rarely object to the smell but it was overwhelming. We changed to the Intercontinental. Just beautiful and close to Raffles. We paid for this separately. Your rep in Singapore said that a refund would be made by Swain Travel for the 3 nights we did not use at the Elizabeth. That was the only glitch with our vacation. The Metropole in Hanoi was fantastic. The boat trip to Ha long Bay was stunning as were the tombs in Hue. In fact we used the National Geographic tour book for Vietnam, all of the places we visited were in it. We even managed a 13 hour tour into China. Alex our tour guide was superb. It was unreal. Our own private patio on the sand, private pool, beautifully appointed, canopy bed and fabulous spot. The food was tremendous with one of the best restaurants I have ever ate at. Daily massages for about $8.00 an hour. A motorbike for $50. for the week. We got exit row seats together both over and back with tons of leg room. The best vacation and best 11 days of my life. We had an amazing trip! Thank you so much for everything that you did to put it together. We had no trouble getting around at all. We took the bus to our hotel the first day and there it was in plain sight a short walk away. Everything went like clock-work. The guides were wonderful..attentive, nice, informative. We especially enjoyed having Yoko as our guide for the 3 days. She did beautifully with the 3 kids which must be a change from her usual tour groups. Our guide in Hiroshima even came back to the train station 2 days later for our departure to make sure that we got out of Hiroshima properly. Thanks again! The trip started out on the day the earthquake happened Taiwan, which shut down all the computers in the PHilippines, but we managed to get to Hanoi anyway, long enough to sleep at the hotel for 3 hours! Then we headed on the Hue, which is one of our favorite places. The hotel we had there was, by the way, beautiful....Saigon is the same as ever. Our time in Cambodia was a very memorable one. The hotel upgrade was undoubtably the best hotel I will ever stay in my whole life, and the spa was fabulous. The tour guide was a local person, whose uncle was on the early conservation team in Cambodia. He grew up playing in Angkor Wat, so his stories had a "real" quality that made him probably one of the best tour guides you could get. Laos was a surprise. Again, the tour guide adapted to the fact that we have a lot of experience in Asia, and he took us to some Hmong festivals and markets where white faces are a real surprise. Needless to say, we began to have a high respect for the quality of the Indochina Services guides. Myanmar was my real focus on this little overview, and again the g uides came through. In Rangoon, I spoke to the guide about our interest in the Andaman Sea, and upon our return he met us and took us to a tour guide that has some connections to try and open that up. All in all, the trip was as smooth as silk, and always above our expectations. Corrina, I have been a travel agent, I know what it takes, and you did a fabulous job. We also want to say that Indo China Services must have heard we were coming. They provided excellent tour guides. We knew going in that this was a rush trip, and we thought maybe we were pushing the envelope. We never wasted a moment, and neither did they. Thanks so much. Kathy
