Days 5-6: Chiang Rai
Fly to the remote village of Chiang Rai, where you spend two secluded nights. Your sightseeing includes the Opium Museum and a river tour with visits to remote villages.

Days 8-9: Chiang Mai
Enjoy the natural and cultural charms of Chiang Mai, including a private mahout training session with elephants. Travel by rickshaw on a city tour and visit Waroros Market, teeming with food, flowers and silks. Spend time at Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai's principal monastery and home to Phra Buddha Sing.

Day 10: Chiang Mai/Bangkok/Siem Reap, Cambodia
Fly to Siem Reap for your first experience in the Angkor complex. Once the heart of the Khmer empire, this collection of temples and monuments is one of the world's great architectural treasures.

Day 11: Siem Reap
Spend the morning on a guided tour of the Angkor complex, including its most renowned site, Angkor Wat. This afternoon, explore Preah Khan Temple and Ta Prohm, where strangler figs and other jungle vegetation are slowly reclaiming the site.
