Your kids will have plenty of company in Vietnam. Everywhere we go, we encounter children eager to make friends with the foreigners on the shiny bikes. That disarming friendliness permeates all aspects of life here, whether we’re boogie-boarding on South China Beach, touring Hanoi’s Old Quarter with a helpful guide, gaping at bemused water buffalo from the side of the road or stopping to chat with the townsfolk as we ride through the small villages along the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
