Tour Itinerary
Day 1. Alice Springs to Ayers Rock. Journey through changing scenery into the semi-arid desert that surrounds Ayers Rock and the Olgas. Visit an outback Camel Farm (rides at own expense), and later proceed to the Yulara permanent campsite. At the majestic Olgas, hike through the Valley of the Winds. Also enjoy a spectacular sunset over the "Rock". Tonight, enjoy a traditional Aussie meal. Ayers Rock Resort Campsite. LD
Day 2. Ayers Rock to Kings Creek Station. Explore the fascinating rock and see a spectacular sunrise, climb the rock if you wish, followed by a base tour exploring ancient caves, Aboriginal paintings and unusual rock formations. After lunch depart for Kings Creek Station, a working cattle/camel station, and our camp site. A hearty bush dinner tonight. Kings Creek Permanent Campsite. BLD
Day 3. Kings Creek to Glen Helen. Travel to Kings Canyon, and explore this geological jewel, including the "Lost City" and the "Garden of Eden". After a picnic lunch, head off on Mereenie Loop Road towards the MacDonell Ranges. Overnight near a beautiful freshwater swimming hole at the picturesque Glen Helen Gorge. Day 4. Glen Helen to Wallace Rock Hole. Explore Ormiston Gorge and see the Ochre Pits where Aborigines obtained their body paint, see Glen Helen Gorge, Ellery Creek, Standley Chasm and more! Continue to Wallace Rockhole Aboriginal Community for a guided tour of the Aboriginal rock art of the Arrente people (seasonal). Our overnight camp is at Wallace Rock Hole Permanent Campsite. BLD
Day 5. Wallace Rockhole to Alice Springs. Discover the tropical environment of Palm Valley, located in the middle of the arid Central Australian Desert, and home to over 300 plant species. We continue our journey, stopping to view Standley Chasm before arriving into Alice Springs late afternoon. BL
