Tour Itinerary
Day 1. Mt Sturt and Wildlife. Depart Adelaide Airport with Regional Express (flight not included) arriving at Port Lincoln 9.50am to be met by your tour leader. Travel through farming land into the outback to Wudinna a small town of 600 people. Visit Wudinna Rock as you travel into the bush to Kangaluna camp for lunch. This afternoon tour to Mt Sturt and the Corribinnie Lakes. Your wildlife experience begins here as the outback animals thrive in this environment.
Along the way you get the chance to have some fun and paint your face with the multi coloured ocre rock as the Aboriginal people did to decorate themselves for ceremonies. In the afternoon drive through a changing landscape. You will see emus and kangaroos (Reds, Western Greys and Euros) as you drive through the ancient outback range to Kangaluna Camp. Day 2. Lake Gairdner/ Gawler Ranges wildlife. Morning drive to spectacular Lake Gairdner, which is like a piece of Antarctica, with its glistening white salt pan set in the middle of a red landscape. Here you can walk through the bush looking for some of the 146 species of birds recorded here. Today you will see Wedge Tailed Eagles, cigar shaped volcanic rock formations 1500 million years old, and lots of wildlife. In the afternoon travel through a private sheep station and along an interesting Gorge back to Kangaluna Camp BLD
Day 3. Baird Bay sea lions. This morning drive to Baird Bay where you board the MV Investigator for an unforgettable wildlife experience. On the 5 kilometre journey to a lagoon near Cape Radstock (at 160 metres, it is one of the highest sheer points on the southern coast of Australia) you can watch Bottlenose dolphins ride the bow wave of the boat, and join these magnificent mammals in shallow water. Cross the bay to visit a resident colony of rare Australian sea lions and experience playing face to face with these agile and friendly mammals as you wade in protected shallow lagoons. After lunch on the boat you leave Baird Bay and visit Streaky Bay and enjoy magnificent Coastal scenery before arriving at Ceduna. Depart for Adelaide on the 7.25pm flight with Regional Express (flight not included) BL
Day 4. Tuesday Batemans Bay toSydney. A guided morning walk into the National Park departs from the hotel at 8.00am. Alternatively get some sand between your toes and take a walk along the beach in front of the Resort. Leaving the Resort, travel along the coast via Termeil, Ulladulla and Milton to Huskisson, on the shores of Jervis Bay. Here you join 'Dolphin Watch Cruises', a multi Tourism Award winner, for a 2 hour cruise to see dolphins in the wild. Morning tea & Coffee is available on board (free). Continue through national parks and state forest to Nowra and across the Shoalhaven River before heading east to Coolangatta Estate Winery for wine tasting and lunch. Coolangatta is an aboriginal word meaning fine view and is the site of the first European settlement on NSW's south coast.
After lunch continue north through lush rolling hills and rich dairy farming land to Gerringong and Kiama, without losing sight of the ocean. Next stop is the famous Blowhole at Kiama, followed by afternoon tea. Travel to Sydney via the Grand Pacific Drive, to arrive at approximately 5.30pm. B
