Franklin - Lower Gordon Wild Rivers National Park is located 200 kilometres west of Hobart. Adventurers test their skills on the Franklin's rapids while cruise boats ply the Gordon River. An area of great beauty, the landscape is glacier worn, remote and rugged with deep gorges, impressive peaks, rainforest valleys and the calm waters of Macquarie Harbour. At Heritage Landing a short walk leads to a 2000 year old Huon pine tree. There are various easy access walks throughout the park including Nelson Falls and Donaghys Hill which provides spectacular views of the Franklin River and Frenchmans Cap. There are basic camping facilities provided.
