Mandarin Oriental Hotel Prague Dining

With surroundings as glorious as these, there is no reason not to make our restaurants and bar equally magnificent. Essensia, comprised of five adjoining rooms crowned by vaulted ceilings, boasts the best of authentic Asian and modern European cuisine. It also has an extensive wine cellar, skillfully stocked with fine vintages from France, Italy and the New World, as well as an exclusive selection from the best regional boutique wineries for enthusiastic oenophiles.
Diffused lighting and Asian accents make the BAREGO Bar a chic yet intimate rendezvous, perfect for daytime snacking, evening cocktails, and anytime people watching.
Last but not least, our beautiful Monastery Lounge, set amongst a breathtaking colonnade, formerly a cloister corridor, is the place to be to enjoy our world-famous afternoon tea. Essensia Warm, soft light bathes the elegant arches of our vaulted dining rooms, creating an inviting backdrop for our excellent cuisine - morning, noon and night. Essensia offers a contemporary approach to EurAsian style, with a simple menu that showcases dishes of distinctive flavour and the finest seasonal ingredients. At Essensia, cuisines are not fused together; they are presented side by side at their tempting best. Patrons can choose Oriental starters such as Jhinga Prawns, marinated in yoghurt and Indian masala, or European appetizers like the pata-negra jamon iberico gran reserva served with pecorino cheese, caramelised fig and grilled asparagus.

Main courses, too, include perfect samples from Asia and Europe alike, such as Sesame Crusted Tuna served with soba noodles in bonito broth or succulent Beef Tenderloin with seared foie gras.
Divine dishes are not all that Essensia has to offer. The restaurant also holds some hidden charms, including a secret staircase leading to The Wine Cellar, which can be used as a private dining room. Barego It’s not easy being all things to all people, but BAREGO comes pretty close. The perfect spot for a pre-dinner drink, celebratory cocktails, a light snack, or a late-night liqueur, BAREGO has it all with atmosphere to spare. Grab a friend and drop in for a spot of people watching, the town’s most tempting spiced Thai fish cakes, or an icy Czech beer – we have seven to chose from! Oh, and don’t leave without trying our famous champagne cocktail, the Mandarin Oriental Classic, or our divine Monastery Smoky Martini.
Monastery Lounge Drinks and refreshments are served all day. In the afternoons we offer our Mandarin Oriental tea service that is renowned around the world.
