Day 4: Munich/Oberammergau/Bavarian Castles/Munich
Travel to King Ludwig II's ornate Castle Linderhof, the king's favorite. Later head to Obergammergau, home of the famous Passion Play that was first performed in 1634. Continue to see the fanciful, neo-romantic Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Ludwig II as a retreat and homage to composer Richard Wagner. Day 5: Munich/Rothenburg ob der Tauber
Drive along the "Romantic Road" with a stop in Dinkelsbühl before continuing to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Considered to be the best preserved medieval town in Europe, it seems to have leapt from the pages of a storybook, with gingerbread architecture and a wealth of fountains and flowers set against a backdrop of towers and turrets. Day 6: Rothenburg ob der Tauber/Nuremberg/Leipzig

Explore Dresden, known as the "Florence of the North.' Visit the Semper Opera House, the Zwinger Palace's collection of Old Masters and the Green Vault collection of priceless objets d'art. Day 10: Dresden/Berlin
Take a train to Berlin, Germany's largest city and center of culture and the arts. This former capital of the empire was the main seat of Prussian kings and now, once again, the residence of the Federal Government. Day 11: Berlin
