In Engelberg, former village president Charley Christen personally takes you for a short walking tour of his lovely village. Board the world-renowned Glacier Express train through stunning Alpine scenery to the mountain village of Zermatt. Fly by helicopter to the top of the Matterhorn where during a traditional Swiss dinner, you are presented with a gift - a rock from the Matterhorn. Visit the Swiss Bank in Zurich where you have the opportunity to open a Swiss bank account. This extraordinary journey concludes with dinner at the Blind Cow - the most unique restaurant in Switzerland built inside an old church.

Day 1 USA/Zurich, Switzerland Depart on an overnight flight to Zurich. In Flight
Day 2 Arrive Zurich On arrival, transfer by private vehicle and transferred to your deluxe hotel. Zurich Marriott Hotel D
Day 3 Zurich / Engelberg / Lucerne Today visit the charming village of Engelberg, a year-round alpine paradise located more than 3,000 feet above sea level. Here, former village president Charley Christen personally takes you for a short walking tour of his lovely village. Stop at the early 12th century Benedictine Abbey to visit its cheese factory producing the largest selection of regional cheeses in Switzerland before enjoying a delightful lunch in the village. Day 4 Lucerne
This morning is at leisure to perhaps indulge in a beauty treatment at your hotel's ESPA Day Spa, or stroll through Lucerne's charming Old Town (Altstadt) with its fresco-covered architecture. Visit the covered Chapel Bridge, built as part of the city's original fortifications in the 14th century. View the moving Dying lion of Lucerne, a monument carved from natural rock to commemorate the heroic deaths of the Swiss mercenaries at the Tuileries in 1792.
This afternoon visit the Military Fort at Vitznau. The Swiss Army built underground fortresses at the end of the 19th century ranging from small shelters to massive structures for artillery and infantry. Until very recently, these shelters were top secret and not open to the public. This evening dinner is served at the fort. Hotel Palace Lucerne B, L, D
Day 5 Lucerne / Altdorf / Andermatt / Zermatt This morning travel by boat on Lake Lucerne to Altforf where your motor coach brings you to Andermatt. Here you board the world-renowned Glacier Express train to the mountain village of Zermatt. The four-hour train journey takes you through stunning Alpine scenery, including mountain forests, meandering streams, and valleys rich with tradition and centuries old cultures.
Arrive in Zermatt, (your Tour Director's home) and transfer to your hotel. Friendly and welcoming, Zermatt has spectacular panoramas of snow-capped peaks, including the legendary Matterhorn. In this picturesque village, no cars are allowed - horse drawn carriages in the summer and snow sleighs in the winter add to the quiet charm of this beautiful village. Hotel Beau-Site B, L, D
Day 6 Zermatt Board the Gornergrat Bahn and climb more than 10,000 feet up into sky to Gornergrat Station, Switzerland's highest open-air train station. From here the panoramic views of Matterhorn are breath-taking. Enjoy a short hike along the Nordic walking trails before a delicious lunch in a mountain restaurant. Return to Zermatt, where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Hotel Beau-Site B, L
Day 7 Zermatt Today ascend the Matterhorn by helicopter. Enjoy an aerial perspective not possible from the ground. This evening during a traditional Swiss dinner, you are presented with a gift - a rock from the Matterhorn. After dinner listen to the story of your Tour Director's first ascent of the Matterhorn. Day 8 Zermatt / Sion / Interlaken Enjoy a wine tasting and country lunch with Melchior Kalbermatten, Knight and Royal Procurator of the Order de la Channe du Valais, a prestigious organization devoted to promoting the wines of valais. After lunch you have an opportunity to be initiated into the order. Later today travel by motor coach to Gstaad, home to many celebrities before continuing on to Interlaken. Day 9 Interlaken Today you take a train ride up to the famous Jungfrau Joch - the "Top of Europe". At an amazing 11,363 feet, Europe's highest altitude railway station awaits you. The trip takes you via Kleine Scheidegg and through the Eiger North Wall up to the scenic splendors of the Jungfraujoch in a world of glaciers and eternal ice. Here snow and ice is guaranteed. Day 10 Interlaken / Gulch of the Aare / Ballenberg / Interlaken
Begin your morning with a short hike through the Gulch of Aare. Between Meiringen and Willingen in the valley of Hasli discover the "Kirchet," a path eroded by the Aare River over thousands of years, resulting in a gorge. Take a short hike through the gulch area. Lunch in the lovely village of Brienz.
This afternoon visit Ballenberg, the unique, historical museum of Switzerland. With 100 original century-old buildings from all over Switzerland, Ballenberg creates a vivid impression of rural life in bygone days.
The Harder Railway, actually a funicular, is almost 100 years old and still going strong! From the world famous resort of Interlaken, the little red carriages climb a track to the Harder Kulm (more than 4,000 feet) giving a breathtaking bird's eye view of the entire Jungfrau Region. Day 11 Interlaken / Berne / Zurich Travel to the medieval city of Berne founded in 1191, on and around the River Aare. Berne has quite a few attractions and historic sites, as well as an active cultural life. After lunch you are driven back to Zurich. Visit the Swiss Bank, where you may open a Swiss bank account if you wish (USD $300).
This evening a special dinner has been planned for you at the "Blind Cow" restaurant, the most amazing and unusual (it is located in an old church) restaurant in Switzerland. Zurich Hilton Hotel B
