This two-week program focuses on the many distinct cultures that have flourished amidst the Ananolian plateau and the stunning Aegean coast. Begin with three nights in Istanbul, and discover for yourself why this is the ultimate city for so many travelers. From the Byzantine miracle of Aya Sofya, to the sumptuous Ottoman Topkapi Palace, Istanbul is an endless series of delights to be explored. Fly to Kayseri, your base for exploring Cappadoccia with an extraordinary landscape riddled with Byzantine churches, hewn into the soft surrounding rock.  Underground cities and delicately painted cave churches make this region utterly unique.
Spend three nights touring the region, then drive to Ankara for your flight to Izmir. En route, visit ancient caravanserai, and the excellent Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Spend two nights in Izmir, your base for touring the many historical remains in the region, including Ephesus, and the superb architecture of nearby Selcuk. This is a fascinating region, where ancient Greek temples are alongside Christian pilgrimage sites, and fine mosques, still in attendance. Drive to Bodrum for a night: this coastal city has an award-winning museum, and charming whitewashed backstreets. Continue south along the Turquoise Coast to Antalya.
One of Turkey's loveliest cities, its beautifully restored old quarter is a living museum of fine Ottoman townhouses, many of which are now stylish restaurants. Spend three nights here. Antalya is an excellent base for exploring many ancient Greek cities in the nearby mountains, such as Perge and Termessos. Strolling through Antalya's market, or sipping mint tea along the harbour, is an equally alluring way to spend the days. Round off your journey with a night in Istanbul before your international departure.
