Essen Trade fairs/exhibitions
 Every year up to two million visitors from more than 100 countries come to Essen to find out what's new in their respective industries. This makes Essen Exhibition Centre one of the most-visited trade fair locations in Germany. Its calendar of events boasts some 40 trade fairs and exhibitions, 13 of which are international flagship trade fairs. More than 12,500 exhibitors, almost one in four of which comes from outside Germany, use the exhibition grounds every year.
ESSEN MOTOR SHOW
Held annually at the end of November, Essen Exhibition Centre's most-visited trade fair goes by the motto "Your car is more". Every year 400,000 visitors flock to this international trade fair for car modifications, motorsport and classic cars. Motor racing features heavily here, as do manufacturers of a bewildering array of motor vehicles, while fantasy cars, supercars and prototypes are on display in the Show Centre.
"Schweissen & Schneiden" cutting and welding show
Every four years the international flagship trade fair for cutting and welding technology takes place in Essen. In an area of almost 50,000m² more than 65,000 industry specialists from over 40 countries gather information on metal working and metal processing, manufacturing automation, welding technology, materials, CAD/CAM and industrial robotics.
FIBO
Every May Essen hosts FIBO, the international trade fair for fitness, wellness and leisure. Over four days, the first two of which are exclusively aimed at trade visitors, the latest products and trends from the world of health and fitness are showcased. More than 40,000 fitness professionals and enthusiasts flock to Essen to gather information and ideas from over 300 exhibitors.
