Heidelberg Autumn Fair People of all ages flock to this major festival at the end of September, when the whole of the old quarter is packed with stands and stalls. The wine village is hosted by various wine-growing estates and the Schriesheim vintners' cooperative and provides the perfect opportunity to sample regional wines and specialities. Heidelberg Christmas Market The Christmas pyramid on the market square is the new symbol of the Christmas market. In the shadow of a Christmas angel, it features prominent figures from Heidelberg's history who tell of Heidelberg's importance over various centuries.
