Rooms

All our rooms – Mandarin Deluxe, Mandarin Superior and Mandarin Exclusive – exude the feeling of a stately town house. Every one features a stunning, marble bathroom with surprising details such as a heated mirror that stays mist-free and under floor heating to keep your toes warm. The beds are vast and the bed linen is luxurious - the finest, most delicate silk quilts custom made for our hotel.

With its luxurious marble bathroom with separate bathtub and shower, and a large working desk, this room forms the perfect base when on business in the city. The Biedermeier furniture is custom made for us from cherry wood, and adds an extra warmth to the elegant décor.

Mandarin Superior Rooms

All rooms feature elegant Biedermeier-style furnishings and Breccia Nouvelle marble bathrooms.
And some even have panoramic city views.
With their silk quilts and custom made Egyptian cotton bedding, these rooms exude elegance. They also feature a luxurious marble bathroom with separate bathtub and shower for your convenience. There’s also a large work desk for business, and high speed Internet access which many of our guests find invaluable.

Mandarin Exclusive Rooms

Where some city hotel rooms can feel the size of a walk-in closet, these rooms are large enough to have their own. They are ideal for those on a longer stay - and especially luxurious for a shorter one.
Our Exclusive rooms are the most spacious of all, with a walk-in closet and extra room to lounge. The bathroom is once again Breccia Nouvelle marble, with heating both under foot and behind the mirror. The Biedermeier furniture is custom-made from cherry wood, and set off in fine style by the high ceilings in the lower floor rooms and the abundant natural daylight in those on higher levels.

For the luxury of even more space, our Mandarin Junior, Mandarin Executive and Mandarin Presidential suites are the perfect choice. All except the Presidential suite come with the choice of a lower floor location with high ceilings, or a higher floor position, which has the advantage of maximising the view from the windows or private terrace.

Mandarin Deluxe Junior Suite

Choose a Mandarin Deluxe Junior Suite and you are assured of a spacious room and even greater comfort. With a luxuriously appointed marble bathroom with separate bath and shower, you’ll also find a comfortable seating area and a walk-in closet, as well as a large work space. The suite is furnished with authentic Biedermeier chairs, fashioned from finest cherry wood. Some also have a private terrace.

With a Mandarin Superior Junior Suite, the luxury and elegance is evident in every corner, from the spacious, marble bathroom with its underfloor heating and anti-mist mirror, to the high speed Internet access at the large work desk. High ceilings on the lower floors and a terrace with panoramic views on higher ones, mean you’re assured of a feeling of airiness and extra space.

With its bedroom situated in the historic round tower, this suite is a favourite with honeymooners. It’s as luxurious as you would expect, from its silk bed quilt and Egyptian cotton sheets to the spacious bathroom of Breccia Nouvelle marble. There you’ll find a separate bath and shower as well as a range of luxurious amenities. The fine cherry wood furniture is complemented by custom made carpets and wall paper, and neo-classical prints on the walls.

Mandarin Executive Suites

Both our Mandarin Executive Suites and Mandarin Two Bedroom Executive Suites are partly located in the tower – which means one room is unusually circular. Architectural prints abound, lending an extra air of elegance to the surroundings that include a separate living room and dining area.

The large seating area of this suite is set into the tower, giving it a unique, circular perspective. Elsewhere you’ll find a separate bedroom, dining area and guest toilet along with the marble master bathroom. It’s tastefully appointed as you’d expect, with picturesque, city views from the suites on higher floors, and elegant, high ceilings in those situated on the lower floors.

Whether you choose the King bedded room or the Twin bedded one, you’re assured of a restful night in this spacious suite. Both rooms have their own marble bathroom and a handy walk-in closet. The sitting room has a large dining area as well as a comfortable place to relax when entertaining or watching TV. Tastefully appointed throughout, it boasts custom made furniture and an oversized work desk.

The Presidential Suite

The most opulent option of all, the Presidential Suite has two bedrooms and three luxurious marble bathrooms, one of them exclusively for visitors. Our guests agree a stay in this suite is the ultimate luxury.

From its top floor location, with its own private terrace, the views over Munich from the Presidential Suite are absolutely unique. And there’s no more exquisite suite in the city from which to enjoy them. For the ultimate in luxury, choose the master bedroom with its magnificent four poster bed. Like the accompanying twin bedded room, it has its own walk-in closet and one of three private marble bathrooms. The suite is opulently furnished with a sumptuous satin covered three piece suite. It also has a pair of work desks, as well as a Jacuzzi and steam bath too, so there’s plenty of opportunity to relax at the end of a day

The roof terrace at the hotel is a versatile area for those guests looking to work out. With all-round stunning views, you can swim in our heated pool or take part in a weekly yoga class during the summer months.

Guests looking for a variety of beauty treatments will find everything they could need to relax at Antura Health & Beauty Centre (Schreinerstrasse). A place to invigorate the body and mind, you’ll leave feeling fully rejuvenated. Open from Monday to Saturday 8 am to 8 pm, our Concierge will be happy to provide details on beauty services available in Munich.

Things to Do and See

Though guests will find much to occupy them within the hotel during their stay, Munich has much to offer. Renowned for its architecture, modern shopping facilities and, of course, brewing beer, there’s plenty to see and do in and around the city centre.

With the Alps in close proximity, those who wish to travel outside the confines of the city will find skiing and other winter sports available during the season. Sports fans will be delighted by the Olympic Stadium, as well as the amenities created when the city hosted the World Cup in 2006. To help you decide how to spend your time, here are our recommendations.

Younger Fans

Even our younger guests should feel special when they stay with us in Munich. To ensure they have a good time at Mandarin Oriental, we’ve developed a number of complimentary services just for them – whatever age. Our Concierge will be happy to assist you should you have any further requests.

At the Hotel

On arrival, children are greeted with a welcome gift of a soft toy and a further toy so that they feel as special as our adult guests. We can also provide children’s bed if required. We also provide a specially developed children’s menu in our restaurants.

Yoga & Fitness

There’s no need to stretch yourself when it comes to finding a yoga class in Munich – we provide a weekly class on the rooftop to help you stay in shape and relax. The city is also home to a number of fitness clubs for those guests who prefer a gym environment in which to work out.

Yoga

Organised by Carpe Diem Urban Yoga, the roof terrace at the hotel becomes a yoga studio. Beginner course from 6:30pm to 7:30 pm and advanced course from 8:15pm to 9:15 pm The courses are created by Patrick Broome from Jivamukto Yoga Center. The cost is EUR 15 per guest and places are limited.

Fitness Centre

We offer a small fitness centre on its second floor where you can find a range of essential fitness equipment. We also recommend using the Elixia Fitness Centre in the city centre. This facility provides guests with access to a wide variety of equipment and fitness experts. Our Concierge will be happy to advise you about the various fitness facilities in the Munich area.

Sports

Thanks to the heritage in Munich, there are many sporting facilities throughout the city. You don’t need to be a world-class footballer or Olympian to keep fit during your stay, all levels are provided for.

Tennis

There are a vast number of tennis courts, indoor and outdoor, dotted around Munich, including the tennis facilities at the Olympia Park. The Olympia Park offers 14 tennis courts that can be rented daily from 7am to 10pm. Further facilities can be found at the Rothof tennis centre, which has 20 outdoor and 10 indoor courts. Jogging

There are three suitable jogging routes through Munich varying in length from 4.5 km to 10 km. For each of the routes you should start at the hotel; there are no hills and all the routes are easy to follow – you can even obtain a map from our Concierge.

Outdoor Activities

The Olympic Park
The Olympic Park caters for almost any sport you wish to participate in. There are seasonal variations to the schedule: in winter, guests can enjoy ice skating and sledding while in the summer there are a number of activities from tennis to Nordic walking and more.

River Isar
During the summer months the River Isar that flows through Munich is the focus for a number of water sports. While many prefer to simply swim in the river, there is a special surfing area next to the famous P1 Disco. Please ask our Concierge for further details.

Swimming
The hotel has its own heated pool on the rooftop terrace of the hotel. This is the perfect place for a relaxing swim, with stunning views across Munich and the distant Alps. Open during the summer months, there is a friendly bar that serves refreshing drinks and the freshest summer fruits.

Guests may also use the municipal pool in Munich called Ungerer Bad, which is open between May and September.

Ice Skating
During the winter season, the shopping area near the Karlsplatz is transformed into an ice skating rink. You can book your place on the ice through our Concierge.

Beach
The River Isar, which flows through the centre of the city, provides the site for the beach in Munich. We recommend the stretch of river between the two bridges, the Luitpoldbruecke and the Corneliusbruecke, as these offer views over Praten Island and Museum Island.

Water Sports
The focus for water sports in Munich is the River Isar, which is the venue for surfing enthusiasts in the region. While this is a seasonal activity, taking place during the hottest months of the year (May to August), it’s a popular pastime for locals and tourists alike. You can arrange this activity through our Concierge.

Golf

The city is home to three celebrated 9-hole courses from which to tee off.
The most famous and prestigious golf course located on the outskirts of the city is Munich North Eichenried Golf Complex. Located approximately 25 km from the hotel, your journey should take approximately 30 minutes by car.

Home to the BMW International Open, it attracts crowds of 60,000 spectators and media representatives from all over the world each year. Players here are offered three 9-hole loops that can be played in any combination, all of which end at the clubhouse, with varied fairways and numerous water hazards.
The complex is open to the public between Monday and Thursday and features a well-stocked pro shop, two putting greens and a large, floodlit, all-weather driving range with covered and heated bays. Our Concierge can assist with transport to and from the complex as well as arranging your booking.

Mark's

Under the auspices of our resident chef, Mario Corti, our award winning restaurant, which won a Michelin star, specialises in international cuisine with the unmistakeable taste of the Mediterranean.

With its beautiful table linens, fine crystal and china, Restaurant Mark’s is a gourmet dining experience. It is located on our mezzanine floor overlooking the lobby, and therefore enjoys both intimacy and openness. The restaurant is reached via the impressive sweeping marble staircase in the lobby and the columned interior is enhanced with cherry wood furniture and lavishly upholstered chairs in light blue, beige and ivory.

Our chef Mario Corti, was tipped as the best young, up-and-coming chef by Feinschmecker magazine. He draws freely from many different cuisines, with an accent on the flavours of the Mediterranean. The results are extravagantly lavish without losing the intrinsic taste of the ingredients.

Concealed in the wine cellar are over 400 exquisite wines from

all over the world so there’s bound to be the perfect accompaniment to your meal. The restaurant won a Michelin star and the prestigious VARTA award Chef's Hat, and is now listed amongst the five leading Gourmet Restaurants in Munich.

Mandarin Bar

Located in the lobby, this bar is the ideal spot for afternoon tea – or something a little stronger.

Our luxurious lobby is decorated in rich tones of lavender and terracotta. And there’s nowhere better to relax with a speciality coffee, tea or home made cakes and pastries. The Mandarin Bar is run by award-winning bar chef José Hernandez, who will be pleased to conjure up an irresistible concoction from the wide selection on the cocktail menu.

During the summer months, our guests flock to the Roof Terrace at Mandarin Oriental, Munich when the sun shines.
