Day 2: Tarangire National Park | Evening with the Maasai Begin the day with an optional morning coffee tour. Fly to Tarangire and your stilted tree house accommodations, viewing game and the breathtaking landscape from high above. After settling in, take a game drive through Tarangire National Park. Tarangire has an exceptional elephant population and the highest recorded number of breeding bird species of any habitat in the world; watch for them at the edge of green-tinged swamps. Get your binoculars out and try to spot the vibrantly colored Fischer,™s lovebird and ashy starling. This evening, attend a traditional Maasai boma dinner filled with local fare, song and dance. Day 3: Tarangire National Park | Nighttime Game Viewing For an adventurous safari opportunity, take an optional walking safari this morning. Then, set out on a game drive, pausing for lunch in the bush. You may also visit a Maasai village to learn about the nomadic tribe’s customs and daily life. Tonight, sip cocktails on Sunset Hill an elevated outcrop of granite, quartz and mica during a sundowner. Then, for a nocturnal perspective, embark on a fascinating night game drive, when animals amble out to hunt. Tarangire Treetops | Meals: B L D

Days 4-5: Ngorongoro Crater | Natural Amphitheater Before departing, take another morning game drive through Tarangire National Park. Fly to Manyara, and transfer to your hotel at Ngorongoro Crater, where high tea awaits. Ngorongoro, a collapsed caldera, contains a wealth of wildlife. Spend two days amid its beauty, during which you may descend to the short grass prairies, a haven for lions, elephants, hyenas, wildebeests and gazelles. Watch for pink flamingos as they flock to the crater lake, and notice the vast array of other birds that call Ngorongoro home. Even the rare and elusive black rhinoceros, one of Africa’s most endangered species, is a resident here. The Manor at Ngorongoro | Meals: B L D

Days 6-7: Serengeti National Park | Tanzania’s Jewel Pay an optional visit to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but wildlife-rich region of grasslands, forests, marshlands, scrub and parklands punctuated with acacia trees. Have your camera ready while looking for lions and large elephant herds. Or, stay at your hotel and enjoy amenities such as horseback riding, mountain biking or massages at the spa. Fly to Serengeti National Park and your tented home. Spend the next day exploring the magnificent Serengeti, starting, perhaps, with an early morning walking safari. Choose between full and half-day game drives in search of migratory animals. The vast Tanzanian landscape hosts one of earth’s last remaining wildlife spectacles: the annual Great Migration, when a staggering number of herbivores trek across the plains landscape in search of water and fresh grass. In the evening, partake in dinner, as the African sky twinkles high above. Serengeti Migration Camp | Meals: B L D

Day 8: Depart Arusha Begin the day with an optional walking safari along the banks of the Grumeti River. After lunch, fly to Arusha, and relax in a dayroom before your international flight. Arusha Coffee Lodge (dayroom) | Meals: B L
